To celebrate the different ways that people choose to enjoy their Christmas and reinforce the fact that however it’s celebrated, Tesco is here to help.

Strategy & Insight

Up and down the UK, most people celebrate Christmas but in a huge variety of ways. Whichever way, the food drinks, decorations, gifts, deals and inspiration to impress and delight family and friends, whatever the budget, can all be found under Tesco’s roof.

With that as a starting point we wrapped the tagline #Everyone’sWelcome around a campaign that surprised and delighted visitors by offering an exciting, unexpected and helpful Christmas experience to inspire shopping and gift ideas.

The solution

We chose a Bavarian-style chalet market, with BrandAmbassadors wearing T-shirts emblazoned with the Everyone’s Welcome tagline.Across 70 Tesco stores we sampled more than 40 products and explored unusual food and drink pairings.

We used snow machines to create an extra layer of fun and children enjoyed the face painters, nearly as much as the Santa grottos. BAs not only wrapped some of the products and gifts customers bought but also gave them a masterclass in how to do it.

Customers had the chance to win prizes using interactive digital screens.

Results

The fun continued in store, where more Brand Ambassadors gave Tesco customers essential Christmas training, such as a masterclass in gift-wrapping to fuel the festive feeling.
