The UK was emerging from a hard winter indoors. Audiences had been isolated and beauty lovers unable to attend events or explore products in-store. Superdrug asked us How can we still inspire our customers and give them a lift, at home?

Understanding the huge spike in searches for home treatments and Tik Tok style step-by-step transformation trends we proposed taking the physical event platform we’d launched in 2019: ‘Superdrug Presents’ into a live virtual event, streamed on Instagram for 200 lucky attendees.

Activation

Hosted by make-up creator Samantha Harvey, she heroed a trending make-up look, whilst interacting live with the audience, allowing them to ‘create along’ through a step-by-step guide.

A first.

Purchasing a ticket ensured viewers received a gorgeous beauty box to their door, filled with the products & tools needed to create the look.

Results

Attendees had the chance to win the entire product range if they posted their finished look on Instagram with the hashtag#SuperdrugPresents, generating huge amounts of organic content. And with over a quarter of a million engagements online and a 100% positive sentiment, thePresents Masterclass became a space that brought makeup lovers together at a time when physically, they couldn’t be.
